The Biggest Ever Wins in Online Poker
Online poker can be highly rewarding. I’ve been playing online poker for quite a while now and there are times when the pot size exceeds $100,000. My largest win would be that one time when I took down a little over $64,000 in a Texas Hold’em session. However, even when those numbers seem to be large enough, my personal experiences are nowhere near the biggest ever wins in online poker. There are two largest online poker wins most avid poker players remember, and we are going to discuss them in this article.
The second largest, used to be the largest, ever wins in online poker was scored by Phil Ivey, playing against Juanda who is also an experienced online poker player. The round started with Juanda raising pre-flop with $4,500, with Ivey re-raised the bet to $17,000 and Juanda raised the bet eve further to $55,000. The betting session was closed with Ivey signaling a Call.
The Flop showed A-5-10 with two spades. Juanda raised the bet t=to $112,000, and Ivey quickly went all-in. At this point, Ivey held Three of a Kind (10s) while Juanda is on a Straight draw with same-suited K-8 (spades). The turn was 3 of clubs and the river showed nine of hearts; Ivey took home a pot of $687,000.
Ivey’s record was considered the biggest ever wins in online poker for quite a while until Patrik Antonius broke the record by winning a pot of $886,000. The showdown was even more intense. Want to know how it went down? Stay tuned for more stories!
